About the drop

Jonathan Holt, Editor/Owner

The Drop was born from my love of theme parks! Some of my earliest childhood memories are filled with trips to Disney and Universal with my family. The way the parks transported me to another world where it was okay to laugh and scream directly impacted the way I saw the world growing up. As an adult now, the parks still hold a very special place in my heart, and it’s for the same reason - the escape. At the parks, it’s okay to escape the day-to-day and experience something extraordinary. It’s to let the burdens of life fall by the wayside for the time being. The parks that we love, hold so much magic that they remind us what it’s like to be a kid again. My dream is to build a community that is able to have child-like joy together while talking about and experiencing the parks.

This is why The Drop exists:

to create a community of fans that love having honest conversations that unite our passion for the parks.

It’s very important to us that the community we build is one that’s uplifting, inclusive, and offers an escape from our day-to-day lives, similar to how the parks do.
