Universal Studios Japan saw the opening of the groundbreaking, immersive Super Nintendo World last year in 2021. Now, with the promise of the land also coming to Hollywood, Orlando and Singapore, we’re left asking the question “when can we expect to see the land open at the other parks?” Well, thankfully, that question has officially been answered for one of the parks on that list! In honor of Mario Day on March 10th (MAR10… ba dum ts) Universal Hollywood officially announced that the new land will open next year, 2023!

So what does this mean for the park? Well, the Future Presentation retail store located in the Upper Lot of the park is being rethemed to Super Nintendo World, and it’s ready to open any day now! Along with the confirmation of the land opening next year, the speculation seems to be pointing to the land opening early summer 2023 to capitalize on the influx of tourists during the busy season. For Orlando, while nothing is officially confirmed, we’re expecting Super Nintendo to open with Epic Universe, which is scheduled to open in 2025. Singapore’s version is going to open with the park’s latest expansion, which is about to begin construction any moment as the Madagascar land is set to close later this year.

But now the discussion is for you! Are you excited for Super Nintendo to be coming to the United States? Will this be a big draw for you to book a trip to any of the Universal resorts that are receiving the land? Let us know down below!

Jonathan Holt

Jonathan Holt grew up in Central Florida and fell in love with the Theme Parks and creative culture of Orlando at a young age.

“Some of my earliest childhood memories are filled with trips to Disney and Universal with my family. The way the parks transported me to another world where it was okay to laugh and scream directly impacted the way I saw the world growing up. As an adult now, the parks still hold a very special place in my heart. The parks that we love, hold so much magic that they remind us what it’s like to be a kid again. My dream is to build a community that is able to have child-like joy together while talking about and experiencing the parks.”
